Cazadero Bridge Replacement & Stream Restoration

FIXING A BRIDGE TO SAVE SALMON & Steelhead

Pinecrest assembled a team of hydrologists, geomorphologists, geotechnical and civil engineers, permitting specialists, and biologists to determine how to replace a century-old bridge over the intersection of two streams important for the spawning of endangered salmonids that is in imminent danger of catastrophic failure. The bridge is located on private property and is the sole access route for residents and first responders. Pinecrest is partnering with Native Sage Consulting and local residents to apply for $3M in State watershed improvement grant funding to replace the bridge and stabilize the streambanks without degrading critical habitat for salmonids.
